Doughnut Muffins…..?

I found this recipe online complements of “Land O’Lakes”…. I really want to try this one! So I thought I would share it with you all. If anyone has tried it I would love to hear how they turned out. I think when I make them I am going to add 1 teaspoon of Vanilla to the muffin recipe though….just a thought…

Doughnut Muffins:

1/2 cup milk

1/3 cup butter (melted)

1 egg (beaten)

1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/3 cup butter (melted)

1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 12 cup muffin pan or use paper muffin liners. Set aside.

Combine milk, 1/3 cup melted butter and egg in bowl. Set aside.

Combine flour, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder, salt and nutmeg in bowl.

Then add the wet and dry ingredients together and stir until combined.

Spoon batter into muffin cups and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. When done remove muffins from pans and let cool for 2 minutes.

While muffins are baking place your 1/3 cup melted butter in bowl. Combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in another bowl. After the muffins have cooled for 2 minutes dip muffin tops in butter and then dip in the sugar/cinnamon mixture. Done!

So please let me know if you have tried it or if you plan on trying! Would love to hear your results!

To all my friends that love gardening!

I realize this post is probably a little late for this year but I needed to try this and make sure it worked before sharing with you. It worked wonderfully! We did not have any critters eating all of our veggies this year! YaY!

This is a deterrent for most animals especially Deer!

Use equal amounts of all!

( note: you may want to ware gloves this is strong stuff )

Black Pepper

Cayenne Pepper

Garlic Salt

Curry Powder

Spray water around the area to be sure this sticks to the ground so the wind can’t blow it away and sprinkle this stuff around your plants. You will be amazed how well it works!

Smoked Jerky!!!!! YuMmY!!!!!!

So another of our cooking adventures this past weekend was our tried and true recipe for smoked beef jerky! This is “THE BEST” beef jerky you will ever eat! Joe calls it beef candy! LoL! Everyone in our family and all our friends just love it when he makes this and there is never enough, no matter how much we make. We used a 5 Lb beef roast and Joe cut it into strips while I made the marinade.

Marinade Recipe:

2 cups water

2 cups brown sugar (firmly packed)

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 1/2 cups soy sauce

1/3 cup worcestershire sauce

2 oz hot sauce

a pinch of garlic salt

Once you get your meat all cut up, put it in a sealed container or ziplock bags and let set in marinade for 8 to 24 hours. We let ours set at least 24 hours.

Once the meat has set in the marinade for the 8 to 24 hours you place on your smoker racks and let the smoker do the rest of the job for you. Smoke your meat for about 2 to 2 1/2 hours at about 225 degrees.

When we take it off the smoker we put it in a container (like tupperware) with a lid that seals tightly and let it cool off with the lid sealed and it will get a glossy, sticky coating on it that just makes it even better!

When it’s all done this is your finished product! Enjoy!!!!!!
